When designing tracking tuned circuits (like the RF preselection and oscillator circuits in a receiver), the frequency difference between the two circuits must remain constant. Generally, this design requirement is difficult to achieve. LC-calculator is a software tool that calculates optimal solutions for the tuned circuits, such that:

• The oscillator circuit shows a linear dependency between the variable capacitor's shaft angle and the resulting frequency.
• The frequency error between the oscillator and the tracking circuit is as small as possible.
